“In Leh is the legend of Christ who is called Issa, and the monastery at Hemis holds precious documents fifteen hundred years old which tell of the days that He passed in Leh where he was joyously received and where He preached.  There is also the tradition of the Biblical flood.  And they have a national epic of which only a few manuscripts exist.  Almost every village recites its own version of the story, for there are yet village bards in the land and they tell of His sons to be Kings of Earth and of the mission of His youngest Son to earth.
